About Us
Mother & Daughter
We are a mother and daughter with experience, first as first aiders and then as instructors. We are Firefighters in our home community, members of our local Ground Search and Rescue team and volunteer First Aid Instructors with Manitoba 4-H.
Marika
Marika was a Medical First Responder who has volunteered at local sports events, music festivals and cultural events for over 10 years. She is a member of the Canadian Ski Patrol with Advanced First Aid knowledge and training.
Marika is a recent graduate from the University of Manitoba - BioSystems Engineering. For now, she has sescured a full-time job that allows her to work from home and be available to the farm, the animals and the people she loves! In her spare time she likes flying gliders and planes, playing with her dogs, tending her pigs, chickens and rabbits while also taking care of an ever-expanding garden.
Denise
Denise first certified in Advanced First Aid in 1987. She has been patrolling at her local ski hill since 2013 and she has been an Instructor with St. John Ambulance since 2017. Denise is a member of the Westman Critical Incident Stress Management Team and facilitates a variety of community programs.
A 'farm wife,' and now a 'farm mother,' Denise is pressed into service on various implements in the spring and fall and helps Marika with the animals and garden in the summer.
